Dear Valley Family,
As you are aware, there are many opinions about our current situation with the Corona Virus and there are a lot of things we don’t know.
What I do know is this:
I am primarily concerned for the sheep God has called me to shepherd. Your well being, spiritually, emotionally, and physically, is a priority to me. (Ezekiel 34)
We are commanded to obey the authorities God has installed to govern us. (Romans 13:1-5)
Social Media can be a curse and a blessing.
With counsel from the Assemblies of God National and Regional leaders, many of my colleagues, our pastoral staff, and some of our church leadership and in consideration of our local and state government officials, I have made the decision that Valley Assembly will not meet on our campus this Sunday. This means we will not have our normal services, classes, groups, nor any other Valley Assembly events, at least for the next week.
We WILL BE LIVE STREAMING A SERVICE AT 9:00 AM THIS SUNDAY ON VALLEY ASSEMBLY’S FACEBOOK page. You can watch it live or anytime thereafter. We will have our special emphasis with missionaries joining us. Here is an example of the blessing of Social Media!
The government has stated large groups should not meet for 30 days. Because this is a fluid situation, I will be updating you EVERY THURSDAY BY 5:00 PM with the plan for the following week. We will post these updates on social media, our website, and through email. We will also do our best to keep our church phone message and sign current.
I understand there will be some who are not happy with this decision. I am actually glad about that because it shows how much you love our church family. However, please have grace and try and understand my position. I would ask if you are unhappy with this decision, that you would talk with me, personally, rather than sharing your disappointment on Facebook or other social Media. That would not be uplifting and could actually cause division.
Our goal is to resume our regular ministries as soon as possible, but during this time we have an unprecedented opportunity to shine brightly for Jesus. Our Food Pantry will be open throughout the week for those who need assistance. If you need help- physically, spiritually, or emotionally- please reach out. We are continuing to LOVE FIRST and that love begins in the family.
While this has been a difficult time, I am confident God will work it together for HIS Good and HIS Glory. I am praying for you and I ask that you pray for me and our leadership team as we navigate these uncharted waters.

P.S. We would love for you to fill out a connection card if you are joining us online this Sunday. There is even a place to put in a prayer request. https://valleyassembly.churchcenter.com/people/forms/74324
You can also give online at https://valleyassembly.churchcenter.com/giving
NO Activities, Events, or Services ON the Valley Assembly CAMPUS (Sunday AM, Mid-Week, Kids Ministries...)
We are also asking for all home groups to suspend during this time.
Sunday Morning we will Broadcast LIVE on Valley Assembly Facebook page at 9:00AM (and can be watched anytime thereafter).
If you do not have Facebook, the service will be on our website by Tuesday.
The Spokane Health District has cancelled all large meetings for 30 days. As this pandemic is changing daily, we will update you each week BY Thursday at 5:00 PM to let you know the plan for the coming week.
I have not made this decision lightly. I have never cancelled a Sunday morning service, but in deference to your health and in obedience to our authorities, I believe the wisest course of action is to offer our services online.
We are STILL the Church and we are STILL called to Love First... we simply have an opportunity to experience this in a new way.
You are invited to watch our Facebook video updates here
Our prayers are with those who have been impacted by the Coronavirus. Please know we are monitoring the situation very closely.
Remember, "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." - 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
