History of Valley Assembly

Valley Assembly of God was formed in 1948, when the founding pastors, Dan & Betty Maser
purchased land at 11515 E. Broadway (the current site of New Life Assembly). They began services
in November of 1948 at the IOOF Hall on Sprague. The next spring they completed construction of
the first building. An additional building was erected in 1969 and was attached to the existing facility.

In 1975 the present site was purchased at a price of $20,000. A metal building was erected for a gymnasium, and later classrooms and a foyer were added. Two adjoining parcels of land were
purchased in the 1980 and 1988, bringing the total property to just under 7 acres. The worship center
was completed and dedicated in June of 1995. The newest addition was begun in the spring of 2002
and adds 32,000 square feet on 3 levels of youth center, children's center, nurseries, classrooms,
and chapel. The expansion of the worship center was completed in 2006 .

Currently Valley Assembly is home to over 800 regular attenders and has just completed a historic
pastoral transition. On September 28th, 2008 - Pastor Al Hulten, after nearly 23 years as Valley's
Senior Pastor, resigned and took on the role of Associate Pastoral Care to Valley's new Lead Pastor,
Kent Mankins.
